How do you place a webcam on the map?

Posted by Brian@Brea on 6 March 2012 in English (English)

Hi OSM community,
I been working on the Disneyland resort in California and I have found a webcam outside of the parks, how do I list the camera onto the map. I entered it as amenity=web_cam and website=http://www.hojoanaheim.com/take-a-tour/webcam but would there be a better way to list

Location: Anaheim Resort District, Anaheim, Orange County, California, United States of America

This scheme is pretty common:
man_made=surveillance
surveillance=public
operator=XYZ
contact:webcam=http://mickey.mouse

There are some more tagging-proposals on the wiki (see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Man_made%3Dsurveillance)

amenity isn't a good tag, the above is ok.

Amenity is meant for something worth visiting. A webcam (=the hardware) isn't worth visiting.
