Trail not really showing on "view" tab

Posted by Berobispo on 26 November 2008 in English (English)

Hi!

startef today by trying to upload an edited .gpx from a garmin receiver. I used JOSM to change the gpx tag to a trail and uploaded it via the interface. When I check in the normam view tab, I can't see the trail. When I use the edit tab (potlach) the trail shows. Looks like an overlay over the yahoo aerial image. Any suggestions?

It takes up to a week for the map to be updated - usually every Wed/Thu or so.

But aside from that, you need to give your trail some tags for it to show up. Right now it's just a line. Without tags there's no way to know what it is - a road? a footpath? a county boundary?

You should use GPX data as a guide as to where ways and nodes should be placed. Do not convert the GPX data to ways, as GPX data is too dense.

Hi!

thanks a lot for the comments!

- I have tagged it in JOSM as a trail
- I have editd it, the points are not too close, I think. If dowloaded and converted back to .img or so, it should be a good GPS Receiver map to walk, so it's supposed to be rather dense?
