OpenStreetMap

Ok guys,

After two months of discontinuous tiger tag correction this is what I’ve done so far

It’s a “small” Kansas’s portion and only contain 2706 ways (with their 18167 nodes, but they were much more before ways simplification).

But I’ll not stop here…my near future objective is to correct the whole west Kansas’s boundary with a longitude extension equal to the max horizontal extension allowed by OSM (downloading square areas in JOSM) and then the next objective will be to correct the whole Kansas.

The work is very slow especially due to the fact that often roads, with different characteristics, are mapped with a single way, so I’m forced to check every single road to its full extent eventually cut and then change the tags.

I also would love to have a sort of taskmanager like in HOT. It helps a lot to divide and manage work and not accidentally download an already touched area

Aside from change the highway tag I change also tiger:reviewed (from no to yes, naturally) and add a tracktype tag…tags that probably I forgot to add/update to some roads (ops).

Is there anyone who can control what I’ve done so far and tell me if it’s okay?

Regards,

You can use MapCraft to make a HOT-similar task manager thing.

Probably your best bet although if you are thinking more on data than location then I’m working on a data quality tool myself, currently its focused on settlements but I’m open to other needs if they can be accomplished.

From my tool (still in beta phase), Pratt County in Kansas with settlements marked according to data quality.
