Touch/Tablet OSM Editor (TosmE)

Posted by -karlos- on 11 January 2013 in English (English)

"TosmE" is a prototype to work out how to edit ways and areas only by touch gestures.

You may run it from the FOSSGIS server: http://tosme.openstreetmap.de

Do you like it?

It's tested on iPad and iPhone with Safari. I would like to add the function into iD

Info - More soon.

Love it, this is something I have been very interested in. The point at which I think it gets really interesting, is if you have a multitouch table, I can imagine drawing out buildings with multiple fingers from one hand, while moving the map with the other... The scope for multiple people editing the same area of the map could also be quite interesting with touch table devices.

Well, usually pane and zoom is done by two finger multitouch. And by software any edit mode may be realized, even two+one finger pane-painting. If you like, send me code to add it to the project. --- Multi peoble will need to wait for really big tables, O think. --- My next step is, to use Dojo for draw and touch gesture detection. Dojo is also used by "iD".
